Course information:
This course teaches the basic skills needed to create simple block patterns through the process of relief lino printing. Traditional bookbinding techniques will also be taught, using materials that will endure over time. Your printed papers, cloth and leather are then combined with decorative elements to create beautiful books.

What techniques will we cover?
You will learn how to prepare and small lino block, creating 'stamp blocks' to print in formation, creating beautiful piece of paper, cloth and leather, which will be used for book covers and end papers. By the end of this intensive 3-days course, you will learn skills fundamental to hand bookbinding and have a variety of books in your own printed patterns.

By the end of this course you should be able to:
• Use and keep sharp a variety of tools and materials needed to carve lino
• Lino print onto Paper, Cloth and Leather

Due to the messiness of printmaking, students are advised to wear old clothes. This course is suitable for people with little to no experience in printmaking and bookbinding.
