In this 8 weeks course, Isabelle shall introduce you to working with leather. You will learn: Leather Journal - Learn section sewing on a frame and the techniques to construct a book with leather cover. Threre will be clear steps and instructions for leather paring, finishing and introduction to gold tooling. Inlays and Onlays - Create Inlays and Onlay sto achieve detailed designs with leather. Marbling - Marble beautiful patterned papers, use for end paper or to cover a book with Box Making -Construct not just boxes, but folios and cases for your books. Gilding - working with gold leaf Repairs and conservation -

General Bookbinding - 8 weeks course - 4th May - 22nd June
Every Tuesday Nights 6.30pm-8.30pm - Not suitable for beginners
During this course Isabelle will be focusing on gorgeous spine work, particularly on the complex
and often beautiful stitches that are needed to build a spine. Isabelle will lead each workshop,
taking you through various techniques stage-by-stage, as well as responding to digressions and
any queries. You’ll be given the chance to work with both paper and leather and should be able
to bring home finished books with each session.

Absolute Beginners Bookbinding - 8 weeks course - 5th May - 23rd June
Every Wednesday 6.30pm-8.30pm - Suitable for Beginners
This course is aimed at absolute beginners who will be introduced to grain direction, paper cutting,
stab binding, pamphlet stitching and other single section binding. Isabelle will lead each workshop,
taking you through various techniques stage-by-stage, as well as responding to digressions and
any queries. You’ll be given the chance to work with both paper and leather and should be able to
make a number of books over the eight-week period.

Artist’s Books- 8 weeks course - 6th May - 24th June
Every Thursday 6.30pm-8.30pm - Suitable for Beginners
This course will provide a unique opportunity to experiment with new ideas and expand your
Artists Book vocabulary. You shall combine stories, ideas and creative binding styles to produce
personal and unique books. While the focus is on the content of the book, Isabelle will lead each
session, taking you through various techniques stage-by-stage. Explore creative book structures
through making tunnel books, carousel concertina, star and stub bindings to name but a few.
